Happy Yorkshire Day (Well, almost)

Coco the Yorkshire Terrier would like to wish all the friends and supporters of Ryedale Dog Rescue a happy Yorkshire Day for Sunday 1st August.

As a charity focused on rescuing and rehoming dogs from Ryedale and East Yorkshire, we’re very proud to be a local charity. The strapline on our new website reads ‘Helping Local Dogs Find Local Homes’, and over the past fifteen years we have helped over 1000 dogs find their new loving human companions and forever homes.

Now that, hopefully, the Covid restrictions are lifting we’ll be helping to celebrate Yorkshire Day at a new event.

The Milton Rooms in Malton will be holding its first Yorkshire Day event on Sunday 1st August from 12-4pm. There will be lots of fun activities, including a children’s fancy dress, best looking Yorkshire pudding, and flat cap throwing.

The Ryedale Dog Rescue stall will be there, with a tombola and our popular ‘Teddy Game’ for the children. We’d love to see you there, and we’ll be happy to answer your questions about the charity and our dogs.

This year’s been a busy one already with the launch of this website, a move to new storage facilities and market stalls around the area. And we’re hope it’s going to get busier. We’ve not finalised details yet, but our thoughts are already turning to later in the year and our annual auction and much missed pop-up shop.

If you fancy helping our local dogs, we’d love to see you at our events. Better still why not join our happy band of volunteers at Ryedale Dog Rescue? If you’re interested why not email enquiries@ryedaledogrescue.org.uk.

Happy Summer everyone!
