Two bonded brothers looking for an active home

Born in October 2024

They are 51% labrador, 15% cocker spaniel and 34% poodle!

Need an active home with someone committed to continuing their training

Could live with older ‘dog savvy’ children

Any enquiries please email chair@ryedaledogrescue.org.uk

Please read through our adoption policy first. You can find it here

Rodney & Sidney are a pair of very bonded brothers who are looking for a home together. They were originally bought as Cocker Spaniel x Labradors, DNA tests indicate that they are 51% labrador, 15% cocker spaniel and 34% poodle!

They were born in October 2024 and are now fully vaccinated and castrated. Although they look very similar their characters are quite different. Rodney is very outgoing and definitely a bolder character, while Sidney is a bit more reserved and more of a ‘thinker’. Their basic training is coming along, and they are learning to walk well on their harnesses. They do get excited in new situations and with new dogs, but that’s just inexperience and they are learning all the time.

Their ideal home would be an active one with people prepared to continue their training and socialisation. They could live with older ‘dog savvy’ children, and would love a home with lots of outside space where they could run around and play.

To register interest or ask further information please email: chair@ryedaledogrescue.org.uk and we will get back to you as soon as we can. Any rehoming will be subject to our usual homing checking and adoption procedure.

The past twelve months have been extremely busy for RDR, and we have received a large number of calls and emails enquiring about rehoming dogs, or about dogs that need a new home. All the staff at RDR are volunteers, and many have full-time jobs too, but we try to answer your queries as quickly as possible. To help us manage the volume of enquiries, we are making some changes to our adoption process and how we handle enquiries.

For initial adoption enquiries, and all general enquiries please email us at enquiries@ryedaledogrescue.org.uk

In case of emergencies only you can call us on 07843 841778

Adoption Information

If you are enquiring about rehoming a dog please give us as much information about yourself as possible. This will speed up the adotion process, and help our volunteers to give you the most appropriate advice and guidance. Please include the following:

Your name

Address

Contact Details, including phone number

The name of the dog you are inteersting in adopting

If you’re not asking about a specific dog, the type of dog you are interested in

What experience you have of owning or living with a dog

Some information about your home circumstances, for example:

whether you have children or young people living in the home

whether you have a secure garden

whether the dog would be left alone during the day, and if so, for how long.

Details of our full adoption policy can be found here

Molly is a 5 month old (born August 2025) Poodle x Spaniel who is looking for a new home through no fault of her own. Because of her spaniel mix she should be medium sized when fully grown rather than small. Initially she was shy meeting new people and dogs but since in our care has certainly come out of her shell and is a very energetic and happy puppy. She has started to mix with other dogs but can be a little over excited to start with and is now learning her doggy manners and some self control ☺️. She is quick to learn and is picking up her basic commands well and loves to play with toys. She is fully vaccinated, microchipped, house trained and can be left for short amounts of time quite happily. Her ideal home would be with an active family with dog savvy children as she would love the attention/interaction of multiple people and training classes or a doggy activity would suit her well. She really is a sweetheart and we know she will be a popular pup so please only enquire if you can make a commitment to her for the next 12-15 years. Initial enquiries to: chair@ryedaledgrescue.org.uk or call 07843 841778. It will be a condition of adoption that she is spayed at Ryedale Vets when age appropriate (cost covered by RDR).

Larger than life pair looking for a new home together

Two giant breeds: Cane Corso x Neapolitan Mastiff

Looking for a home together

Need a patient and experienced owner with plenty of space

This larger-than-life pair are believed to be mother and son or certainly closely related as they are so bonded to each other and their breed DNA tests would suggest this. Because of their bond we are looking to home them together. They were originally picked up as strays in a local town and remained unclaimed following the statutory claiming period. Marge is around 5 years old and has had her ears cropped and tail docked while Bart who’s around a year old hasn’t. The main breeds in their makeup are Cane Corso and Neapolitan Mastiff with small amounts of other mastiff breeds in there to. Marge is now fully vaccinated and spayed but has been bred from excessively prior to coming to us. She walks well on the lead and knows some basic commands. Bart due to his age has not been castrated as yet but this would need to be done by Ryedale Vets in around 12-18 months time. He also suffers from an eye condition known as Entropion which will require surgery when he’s a little older but is being monitored by the vets (cost covered by RDR). He is still very much a pup and so his on lead walking and learning basic commands are a work in progress!! They are both around 55kg at present, but Bart still has growing to do so could be around 65-70kg when fully grown. We are looking for a home with the time, patience and most importantly the space for 2 giant breed dogs and the experience of owning similar breeds before. They love to be out and about running and playing off lead so a large secure outdoor space is a must for this lovely pair.

If you’re interested in rehoming Marge and Bart contact RDR on chair@ryedaledogrescue.org.uk or call 07843 841778 for an initial chat. RDR will carry out a homecheck before we rehome them.

Announcing a new partnership with Griffon Forest Holiday Lodges

RDR are pleased to announce a new partner. Griffon Forest Holiday Lodges https://www.griffonforest.co.uk, near Malton wanted to choose a local charity to support, and they have chosen us.

A couple of weeks ago a small group of RDR volunteers went to visit Griffon Forest to discuss how we can work together. While we were there they donated a great basket of goodies for our auction, and offered a wonderful raffle prize of a short break at one of their luxury dog friendly lodges.

The raffle will be online and we’re launching it in November. We’ll provide more details of the raffle later, both here and on our Facebook page.

Griffon Forest have also offered us some sponsorship for our events next year and will be selling some goods for us in their shop.
