Dickens is a very handsome 9 month old Basset Hound who is looking for a new home due to a change in circumstances and through no fault of his own.  He is KC registered and fully vaccinated and has been with his current owner since he was a very young puppy.  He is friendly with other dogs and walks well on the lead.  Although he has been around children and always been totally fine he is quite a large young man so any resident children would need to be over 7 and preferably used to living with a dog(s).  Experience of the breed or similar would be an advantage but not essential and a loving environment where he would be the centre of someones world would be far more important.  He would need to be neutered at Ryedale Vets when age appropriate the cost of which would be covered by Ryedale Dog Rescue.  Please make initial enquiries to:  chair@ryedaledogrescue.org.uk.  Any rehoming would be subject to a homecheck by RDR.

• Born in October 2024
• They are 51% labrador, 15% cocker spaniel and 34% poodle!
• Need an active home with someone committed to continuing their training
• Could live with older ‘dog savvy’ children

• Please read through our adoption policy first. You can find it here

Rodney & Sidney are a pair of very bonded brothers who are looking for a home together.  They were originally bought as Cocker Spaniel x Labradors, DNA tests indicate that they are 51% labrador, 15% cocker spaniel and 34% poodle!

They were born in October 2024 and are now fully vaccinated and castrated.  Although they look very similar their characters are quite different.  Rodney is very outgoing and definitely a bolder character, while Sidney is a bit more reserved and more of a ‘thinker’.  Their basic training is coming along, and they are learning to walk well on their harnesses.  They do get excited in new situations and with new dogs, but that’s just inexperience and they are learning all the time.

Their ideal home would be an active one with people prepared to continue their training and socialisation.  They could live with older ‘dog savvy’ children, and would love a home with lots of outside space where they could run around and play.

To register interest or ask further information please email:  chair@ryedaledogrescue.org.uk and we will get back to you as soon as we can.  Any rehoming will be subject to our usual homing checking and adoption procedure.

The past twelve months have been extremely busy for RDR, and we have received a large number of calls and emails enquiring about rehoming dogs, or about dogs that need a new home. All the staff at RDR are volunteers, and many have full-time jobs too, but we try to answer your queries as quickly as possible. To help us manage the volume of enquiries, we are making some changes to our adoption process and how we handle enquiries.

• For initial adoption enquiries, and all general enquiries please email us at enquiries@ryedaledogrescue.org.uk
• In case of emergencies only you can call us on 07843 841778
