Shadow

A young boy looking for an active home

Shadow is a 3 year old Labrador x English Pointer who we are helping to find a new home due to a change in circumstances.  He has been with his current owner since he was 14 weeks old and is fully house trained and can be left alone for a reasonable amount of time once settled.  He is  quite a large/strong lad but very affectionate towards people and would be suitable to live with teenage children.  Although he loves his food (a bonus when training) he is not protective of it.  Due to the combination of breeds in his makeup he does need an owner who is experienced with working dogs who can give him the exercise/stimulation he craves.  He would be best suited to a rural home with a garden and an owner with the time and patience to continue his training.  He does know his basic commands but work is needed on his recall as he gets easily distracted by wildlife!  His vaccinations will need to be restarted and he will need castrating once settled in a new home, both costs being covered by RDR.  If you think you could offer this young boy the life he deserves in a loving active home please email:  chair@ryedaledogrescue.org.uk in the first instance including a contact telephone number.   Any rehoming would be subject to a homecheck by RDR.
